Realize Your Dream! The Ultimate PokéPark Kanto Guide for Trainers

The world’s first permanent outdoor Pokémon theme park, “PokéPark Kanto” (ポケパーク カントー), opened on February 5, 2026, inside the vast grounds of Yomiuri Land in Tokyo!

Located in the Tama Hills, this location perfectly mirrors the “Kanto Region” from the original Pokémon Red and Green games. Spanning approximately 2.6 hectares, it brings the world where Pokémon live into reality.

Here is the ultimate guide for international trainers to maximize your adventure!

2 Main Areas: What Can You Do?

The park is split into two completely different zones:

  • Pokémon Forest (ポケモンフォレスト): A lush nature area where Pokémon live in the wild. Note: Entry is restricted based on your ticket type, and children under 5 cannot enter.
  • Kayatsuri Town (カヤツリタウン): A bustling town hub where all visitors can freely shop, eat, watch shows, and enjoy attractions.

Right at the “PokéPark Entrance Square,” Squirtle, Bulbasaur, and Charmander welcome you. It’s a nostalgic dream come true for anyone who started their journey from Pallet Town!

Insider Tips for International Visitors

1. 100% Cashless Park

PokéPark Kanto does not accept cash (Japanese Yen) inside the venues. Make sure your digital wallets or cards are ready:

  • Supported Payments: Major Credit Cards (Visa/Mastercard, etc.), Japanese Transit IC Cards (Suica, Pasmo), and QR Payments (PayPay).

2. Bringing Your “Plushie” (ぬい)

If you have a favorite Pokémon plush toy, bring it with you! Taking it to the Pokémon Center in Kayatsuri Town might trigger a delightful little interaction.

3. Eco-Bags & Shopping

Plastic bags cost extra in Japan (50 to 150 yen). However, the park’s bags feature exclusive designs and make great souvenirs. There is also a giant shopping bag available for 1,200 yen at the main shop.

4. The 151 Poke Ball Pin Badge Game

You can buy a random Poké Ball capsule containing one of the original 151 Pokémon pins (currently limited to 1 per person). If you get a duplicate, there is a trading space near the shop registers where you can swap with other trainers! Keep your receipt, as it is required to enter the trading zone.

5. Food & Hydration

Food options inside Kayatsuri Town are casual (mostly Onigiri/rice balls and Hot Dogs) and seating is limited. If the lines are too long, you can step out into the main Yomiuri Land park area to find sit-down restaurants.

How to Get There from Central Tokyo

The park is located at Yomiuri Land (4015-1 Yanokuchi, Inagi-shi, Tokyo).

By Train (Highly Recommended)

  1. Keio Line (Easiest & Most Scenic): Take the train to Keio-Yomiuri-Land Station. Right outside the station, hop onto the “Sky Shuttle” Gondola (Ropeway). It takes 10 minutes and flies you directly into the park with a beautiful view! (Stroller accessible). If windy, a 5-minute local bus is available instead.
  2. Odakyu Line: Take the train to Yomiuriland-mae Station, then take the Odakyu Bus for 10 minutes straight to the front gate.

Summary Checklist for a Perfect Day

  • [ ] Arrive 30–45 minutes before opening to line up.
