For Pokémon fans visiting Japan, the Pokémon Café is one of the most magical experiences you can have. With only two official cafés—one in Tokyo and one in Osaka—it’s a rare chance to enjoy Pokémon-themed food, meet Pikachu, and take home exclusive memories.
Features
- Pokémon-Themed Interior: Every corner of the café is decorated with Pokémon details, from the décor to the tableware.
- Character-Inspired Dishes: Menu items are shaped like Pikachu, Eevee, Poké Balls, and more.
- Exclusive Goods: Limited-edition merchandise is sold only at the café.
- Pokémon Greeting Event: A Pokémon character, such as Pikachu, visits each table for a special meet-and-greet.

Menu & Prices 🍴
The café menu changes seasonally, but you’ll always find creative and playful dishes. Here are some highlights:

💡 Average cost per person: ¥2,500–¥3,500.

Pokémon Greeting Event
The highlight of the Pokémon Café is the “Greeting” event—the café’s main attraction where a Pokémon comes to visit each table.
What You Can Do ✅
- Take photos of the Pokémon.
- Shake hands or high-five with the Pokémon.
What You Cannot Do ❌
- Pull or grab the Pokémon’s body.
- Take two-shot (solo) photos directly with the Pokémon.
👉 Before the greeting begins, staff will explain the rules, so please listen carefully.
Who Appears?
During my visit, I met Patissier Pikachu, who came around to every table. Depending on the day, the costume may differ, adding to the surprise and fun.
When Can You Meet the Pokémon?
- The exact time is not announced in advance.
- However, you are guaranteed to meet the Pokémon once during your dining time.
- For example, Pikachu appeared about 30 minutes after I entered (timing may vary).
💡 Relax and enjoy your meal—Pikachu will definitely come to say hello!

- Each reservation allows up to 6 guests (including children). Larger groups must book separately.
- You must include the number of children in your booking.
- Once confirmed, the number of guests cannot be changed.

Insider Tips 💡
- Check for cancellations around 9:30 PM the night before, when many people cancel just before the deadline.
- Day-of cancellations may occur by phone, or if a group arrives more than 10 minutes late (automatic cancellation). These seats are sometimes given to walk-ins—but don’t rely on it.
