If you were planning a visit to the iconic Pokémon Center Mega Tokyo or Pikachu Sweets by Pokémon Cafe in Sunshine City, Ikebukuro, please be aware of an urgent update regarding their operations.
The Current Situation
As of March 26, 2026, both Pokémon Center Mega Tokyo and Pikachu Sweets have been temporarily closed until further notice.
This decision follows a serious incident that occurred within the premises on the evening of March 26. The Pokémon Company has issued an official statement explaining that the closure is necessary to prioritize full cooperation with the police investigation and, most importantly, to ensure the physical and mental well-being of their staff members.
Reopening Status
- Status: Closed indefinitely (as of April 1, 2026).
- Reopening Date: TBD (To Be Determined).
- Official Updates: We recommend checking the official Pokémon Center website before making the trip to Ikebukuro.
