What is Ghibli Park?

Unlike traditional theme parks, Ghibli Park has no big rides or roller coasters. Located inside the Expo 2005 Aichi Commemorative Park (Moricoro Park) in Nagakute City near Nagoya, it is a place where you can walk through the forests and trails, discovering the world of Studio Ghibli at your own pace.

Important Rule: All tickets are by advance reservation only. You cannot buy tickets at the park on the day of your visit.

All tickets go on sale at the exact same time:

  • When: The 10th day of every month at 14:00 (JST), for admission 2 months later.
  • Example: Tickets for October will open on August 10th at 14:00 JST.

How to Get to Ghibli Park

Ghibli Park is located inside the Expo 2005 Aichi Commemorative Park (Moricoro Park) in Nagakute City. The easiest starting point for international travelers is Nagoya Station, a major Shinkansen (bullet train) stop.

Here are the two best ways to get there:

Option 1: By Train (The Most Popular Route)

Taking the train is reliable and gives you a chance to ride the Linimo, Japan’s first commercial maglev train!

  1. From Nagoya Station, take the Higashiyama Subway Line bound for Fujigaoka.
  2. Get off at the last stop, Fujigaoka Station (approx. 30 minutes).
  3. Transfer to the Linimo (Tobu Kyuryo Line) and ride it to Ai-Chikyuhaku-Kinenkoen Station (approx. 13 minutes).
  4. The park entrance is right outside the station!
  • Total Time: Approx. 50 minutes
  • Total Cost: ¥680 one-way (Subway ¥310 + Linimo ¥370)
  • Tip: You can use standard IC cards (like Suica, Pasmo, or Manaca) for both lines.
