Ride Evangelion in Kyoto: The World’s First Rideable EVA Experience

World First! Ride Evangelion! Defend Kyoto!

An Angel alert has been detected in Kyoto.
To protect the ancient capital, NERV has established the “Third New Kyoto City Branch” and constructed the Evangelion Kyoto Base in Uzumasa.

Now, NERV is recruiting new EVA pilots.

Visitors who apply will undergo a series of aptitude tests, measure their synchronization ratio, and finally experience the Entry Plug boarding test of Evangelion Unit-01.
This is not just an exhibition—it’s a full-scale Evangelion experience.

Evangelion Unit-01 Appears in Kyoto

Standing at an impressive 15 meters tall, Evangelion Unit-01 emerges from a crimson L.C.L. pool, revealing its upper body in dramatic fashion.

What makes the Kyoto Base truly special is that this is the only place in the world where you can actually ride Evangelion.

What is L.C.L.?
L.C.L. is the liquid filled inside the Entry Plug (cockpit) in the Evangelion series, allowing pilots to synchronize with the EVA.

Board the Entry Plug – Become an EVA Pilot

Step into the Entry Plug, the cockpit inserted into Evangelion Unit-01.

After entering through the boarding gate, you’ll be evaluated from multiple angles to determine your pilot aptitude.
Once inside the Entry Plug, grip the control lever and experience the world from Evangelion’s point of view—a breathtaking sight overlooking Kyoto.

Your Synchronization Ratio, which measures the neural connection between pilot and EVA, will be calculated.
Aim for the highest sync rate and prove you have what it takes to pilot Evangelion.
