Inasa beach : Torii island from Japan

“Inasa beach” is a beach 1 km west of “Izumo Taisha Shrine” and is known in Japanese mythology.
This beach is also the beach where once a year, on October 10th of the lunar calendar, gods from all over Japan gather at the Izumo Taisha Shrine to welcome All the deities from all over the country.

Bentenjima (弁天島)

A torii stands on “Bentenjima” in Inasa beach.
Why is the torii on the rock?
In fact, the big rock “Bentenjima” on Inasa beach is one of the islands that was once off the coast of Inasa Bay!
It’s convincing that a torii was built on the rock, isn’t it?

Inasa no Hama has a coast facing west, so if the weather is nice, you can see a beautiful sunset.
